this morning glory that opens on a gray winter day... seems like i should be able to take on life against such odds. i like that.
ReplyDeleteIssa's ku... has me traveling down a number of roads on this one. life. again.
how cool - the mid range values of the Hokusai work are used so effectively. very cool.
i'm fascinated with the process by which vines climb - as in the photo - too. it's an amazing world - and fun on Wednesday Haiku.
Wrick, I am so glad that you are enjoying the little editorial dance I've been doing with this new feature. It is what makes editing a creative act ... from poem to picture to poem to picture ...

I like the first one a lot. The Issa one doesn't connect with me and that's rare for his work.
ReplyDeleteCharles:
ReplyDeleteVery glad you like John's poem.
The Issa is one that either grabs or doesn't - for me, I imagined a white morning glory opening before dawn, setting up the contrast of very bright and very dark. I can see where it might not work, though.
