The yellow fog that rubs its back upon the window-panes
The yellow smoke that rubs its muzzle on the window-panes

Fog
The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

That fog keeps creeping under the windows and through the doors, wrestling with the mind like Issa's white and yellow butterflies.
I've been hiding beneath the bed.
Well, to gild the foggy lily, one might call it a strategic Retreat.
