All in all a effervescent set piece, each nodding to each:
Vali Poole's original voice strikes so playfully deep to the relationship between human and other that the two deconstruct duality, express unity; in turn, suggested by Hokusai's exquisite drawing of the beloved one, Chuang-Tzu; two butterflies borne of a winter dream, the living in the dying. Thank You! one and all.
Don,
I liked a light sense of humor conveyed in Poole's beautifully-crafted haiku.
And your choice of Issa's haiku has made my day.
Many thanks.

Donna ... thanks so much, as always, for the deep resonating read. An editor's dream, as are both these poets.

Cheers - your work lifts me up.

Well, how 'bout that. Saw the first two butterflies of the season just the other day - hurried as the days have been, I just stopped and watched them for a time . . . forgotten until I read these. Thanks, Valli and Chen-ou.
Always loved Tiger Lilies. We used to have a bunch in our yard when I was growing up.

Ah, memory, fickle as the flitting butterfly ... a fine return.

None now?
