Monsieur K, the photo was taken somewhere north of Wéris, according to the Wikipedia Commons legend.

dolmens considered burial tombs
however
this definition of what they are/were used for

there are so many of them that I think that they were
more probably weigh-stations along travelers' roads

or markers marking the way.. or territorial boundary markers


in fact

Stone Girl traveled from place to place and bedded-down in many of these ... rest stops

check out Biaggi's Habitations of the Great Goddess

replicating caves to go into a fire at the mouth keeps those

man-eating-animals (that prowl the night) away..
