Stink bugs, Japanese style
Though it is tempting to wonder if the fart bug is similar to the stink bug causing so much commotion in the Eastern US these days, I don't think they are the same. However, for a fine gathering of fart bug haiku and senryu, make a stop over at paraverse's very special page.
For those, who can't quite get enough of this stuff, here you go:

Just right, both of them. Delightful. A difficult, elusive art, haiku writing, although by the plethora of them around the blogs you'd think not!
It's almost Love bug season here.
Learning something new each day is my goal, and before I've even finished my second cup of coffee, Issa and Don have introduced me to the elusive fart bug. Kaboom!
The juxtaposition, just like a good haiku...the whole :-)
Donna's poem, so lovely.
Salvation found in the moment (only place it knows to hang out).
Dick, thank you so much. Your sentiment is spot-on.
Charles, hope you are staying high and dry after the torrential rains in New Orleans.
Jim, I call myself to attention everyday at the library to remember that the people I help find information are teaching me. Glad this one did the trick for you.
snowbird, I was after a contrast, indeed, and was afraid I might have pushed it too much. But I see ...
Tom, that how truly lovely Donna's poem is has not escaped you and so must assume I didn't do too much harm.
Thanks, all.
The words "harm" and "Don" don't fit in the same lexicon (that is, mine).

A great agreat poem!! Sends me back some years down the line when as children we used to declare to each other in a moment of frenzy if we would 'pass' the coming exams! or not.
We used to catch a ladybug each .. put it on our palm and if it flew we would pass and if it refused to do that we would inevitably fail. Haven't seen a ladybug in a long long time now.
Ah, the beauty of the child mind, eh, Aditya. Thanks for the great story and glad you liked the poem.
Sorry to hear about the absence of ladybugs ...
What a gas of a posting, Don! Thanks for this and for your boi(y)sterous humor in sharing Issa's haiku which embraces it all. No fear, no harm. TC, snowbird and Dick, gratitude for your appreciations. And, TC, for salvation at a moment's notice. ~ Donna
Glad you liked it, Donna. I am very happy the poem connected with people. It is just so ....
Thanks again for letting me publish it.
